We kick off the Cali experience with a carefully curated welcome dinner at an Afro-Colombian restaurant, including a live marimba performance and an introduction to the Petronio Álvarez Festival and the cultural heritage of Colombia’s Pacific region. This is your opportunity to ask questions, taste traditional dishes and meet new people.

El Petronio Álvarez Festival is the largest Afro-Latin music festival in the Spanish-speaking world. It's a place where pañuelos (handkerchiefs) wave proudly, melanin flourishes in every shade, and the drums carry us back across the Atlantic to a distant past in West Africa.

Refunds & Cancellation

All deposits are nonrefundable. Travel insurance is recommended to protect your investment should you need to cancel your trip.

Registration forms must accompany deposits in order for reservations to become active. Separate registration forms must be completed for each traveling adult.

Changes to reservation dates, details or destination after deposits received may result in a $50 service charge.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. No refunds after June 1st.

If one guest cancels, the remaining room guests will be responsible for paying the room balance by the scheduled due date. No refunds will be issued on rooms that have not been cancelled.

We are not in control of any portion of the festival logistics or planning. There will be no refunds based on change to festival schedule of events.
